Idi Amin thought of himself very highly. I wrote this poem to prove how he thought he was doing the right thing. I used simple facts from Britannica, Opposing Viewpoints, and the novel Tropical Fish to come up with this poem.
Idi Amin
He said every country
Must have people who die
And that it was his duty
To make them panic and cry
He said citizens were a sacrifice
To help acheive law and order
And some had to pay the price
Which was murder and torture
He said he was a hero
That ruled over the land
But persecuted people row by row
And gave no one a helping hand
He said he was president
But he let Uganda crumble
And it was no accident
That in the end he killed 500,000 people
Must have people who die
And that it was his duty
To make them panic and cry
He said citizens were a sacrifice
To help acheive law and order
And some had to pay the price
Which was murder and torture
He said he was a hero
That ruled over the land
But persecuted people row by row
And gave no one a helping hand
He said he was president
But he let Uganda crumble
And it was no accident
That in the end he killed 500,000 people
