Idi Amin was one of the worst dictators of Africa in history. I wanted to write a letter to Amin expressing my opinions towards to regime. I also wanted to ask him questions about his decions to murder approximately 500,000 people. I used Britannica and Opposing Viewpoints to come up with these questions and opinions towards Idi Amin's choices he made while he was president of Uganda.
Dear Idi Amin,
I do not understand how one man can simply murder 500,000 innocent people. These are people that only wanted to live their lives like a normal human being. They wanted to grow up and have families. And you did not give these people that oppurtunity. Others had families and were separated from them or watched them starve and get killed. All of these horrible things happened for one reason. And that reason is only you. You are responsible for all of the negative things that ruined Uganda for such a long time.
I want to know what your motive was to do such cruel things. You were a cold man that ruled Uganda brutally. What makes you so cold? Is it because it was the only way you gained power? Or was it because you were failing to gain power like you wanted? Whatever it was, I want you to become completely aware that everything you did was wrong. You ruled Uganda 100 percent wrong and did nothing right. You persecuted ethnic groups and insulted countries that did nothing to harm you. You failed at being the third present of Uganda.
